RAGI BATTER:

     Ragi otherwise known as finger millet is rich in calcium. Back then it was our ancestors’ everyday food. Being able to control diabetes it has some other health benefits like supplying essential calcium to our body. Here I have given the recipe for ragi idli and dosa using whole ragi and someother healthy ingredients. Do check it out below.

 

INGREDIENTS:

·        Whole ragi – 1 cup

·        Urad dhal – ½ cup

·        Kerala matta rice – ½ cup

·        Fenugreek seeds – ¼ tsp

·        Red poha – ¼ cup


METHOD:

Ø  Wash the ingredients (except poha) very well until there are no dirt or sand particles

Ø  Soak for two hours (mixed together)

Ø  Alongside soak red poha for just 15 minutes

Ø  Grind well in mixer jar (I prefer wet grinder)

Ø  Ferment for 12 hours or overnight

Ø  Prepare crispy dosa or soft fluffy idli of your choice  




NOTE:

v  The batter should be a little thicker if you’re going to prepare idli

v  Can be refrigerated for about 4 days

v  Good for improving vitamin B12
